Accessibility Statement

RTJ Enterprise Cleaning Company is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology. Last updated August 21, 2026.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance and by most state procurement rules, and it is the bar we hold this site to.

What we have built in

  • A skip link so keyboard users can jump straight to the main content
  • Proper landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer) on every page
  • One H1 per page and headings in a logical order
  • Text and interface colors checked for at least 4.5:1 contrast against their background
  • Visible focus outlines on every interactive element
  • Meaningful alternative text on informative images, and empty alt on decorative ones
  • Form fields with real, associated labels and clearly marked required fields
  • Menus and accordions that work with a keyboard and announce their state
  • Respect for the operating system's reduced-motion preference
  • Layouts that reflow to 320px and stay usable at 200% zoom
  • An embedded map that loads only on request, so nothing auto-plays or steals focus

The accessibility toolbar

The button in the lower corner of every page opens a toolbar with adjustments you can apply yourself: larger text, increased line height and letter spacing, a more readable font, high contrast, inverted or grayscale color, highlighted links, stronger focus outlines, a bigger cursor, a reading guide and an option to stop animation. Presets are included for vision impairment, dyslexia, ADHD, seizure safety and keyboard navigation. Your choices are stored on your own device and re-applied on your next visit.

We want to be straightforward about what that toolbar is. It is a convenience layer for real visitors. It is not a compliance product, and no overlay makes a website accessible on its own. What actually makes this site usable is the underlying markup listed above. The toolbar sits on top of that work; it does not replace it.

Known limitations

Two areas are outside our full control:

  • The Google Maps embed on the contact page is third-party content. We keep it behind a button so it never loads unasked, and we provide a plain text address and a standard directions link as an equivalent alternative.
  • The employment application PDF is a scanned form. If that format is a barrier for you, call (716) 444-3622 and we will take your application by phone or in another format you can use.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a one-time project. This site is reviewed against automated testing and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks when it changes. This statement will be updated as that work continues.
