Frequently Asked Questions
Cleaning questions, answered
The questions Western New York businesses ask us most often, answered plainly. If yours is not here, call (716) 444-3622 and ask a person.
What areas do you provide cleaning services for?
We serve Buffalo, Amherst, Getzville, Williamsville, Cheektowaga, Tonawanda, Clarence, Lancaster, Depew, West Seneca, Orchard Park, Hamburg, Niagara Falls, Lewiston, Lockport and the surrounding Western New York region. See the full service area.
Are your cleaners trained and insured?
Yes. Every cleaner is trained for the work they are assigned, fully insured, and background checked before entering a client building. Crews working healthcare accounts receive additional infection-control training.
What type of cleaning products do you use?
We prioritize eco-friendly, non-toxic products wherever the job allows. Where a hospital-grade kill claim is required we use EPA-registered disinfectants and observe the full label contact time. We will tell you which products are used on your account if you ask.
Can you customise a cleaning program for our building?
That is how we quote everything. Pricing comes from a walkthrough covering floor types, headcount, restroom and kitchen count, traffic patterns and compliance requirements, and the scope separates daily, weekly and periodic tasks so you can adjust before you sign.
What are your cleaning hours?
Flexible. Most commercial accounts are cleaned in the evening, overnight or on weekends so cleaning never interrupts your operations. Daytime service and day porters are available for buildings that prefer a visible presence.
Do you provide emergency or one-off cleaning?
Yes. We handle single-visit work including post-construction cleans, disinfection after an outbreak, move-in and move-out cleans, and reset cleans before an inspection or event.
How often should commercial carpet be cleaned?
Entrances and main traffic lanes usually need interim cleaning quarterly or more often. General office areas commonly need one to two restorative cleans a year with interim work in between. Traffic, weather exposure and whether the building has pets or food service all move that number.
How often should VCT floors be stripped and refinished?
Many buildings run a full strip and refinish annually with scrubbing and burnishing in between. Low-traffic areas can go longer; school corridors and clinic entrances often need it more often. The test is whether the finish is worn through or simply dull. Dull can be burnished, worn through needs refinishing.
Do you follow safety protocols for disinfection?
Yes. We clean before we disinfect, use EPA-registered products appropriate to the surface and setting, and leave surfaces wet for the full label contact time. Cleaners wear appropriate PPE and follow manufacturer ventilation guidance.
Do you supply paper products, soap and liners?
We can. Many clients have RTJ carry consumables and restock them as part of the recurring service, which removes a recurring purchase order from their side.
How do I request a free quote?
Call (716) 444-3622 or use the contact form. We will schedule a walkthrough and put a scope and price in writing.
What if we are not satisfied with a service visit?
Call us. A supervisor reviews the area against the written scope and it is corrected on the next service, or sooner if it is urgent. A written scope is what makes that conversation quick instead of subjective.
Do you require a long-term contract?
Recurring janitorial is normally set up as an ongoing agreement because consistent staffing depends on it, but we would rather earn the renewal than trap anyone. One-off and project work carries no ongoing commitment at all.
Can you work around our security procedures?
Yes. Access is arranged to fit your process, whether that means keys, fobs, a lockbox, alarm codes or badging in through your own system. Cleaners are screened before they are issued access to any building.
